From our discussion today in class, I reflect on how the world's view of marriage and the LDS Church's view very much differ. In The Proclamation to the Family, it discusses how marriage is to be between a man and woman. In our world today, it is becoming more and more common for those of the same gender to marry. In addition, the world would have us think that we can't afford children or that they are a great burden or that they will ruin our figure. The LDS Church commands couples to multiply and replenish the earth and to have as many children as they can handle. I love the church's view on marriage and family. I am excited to get married and start my own family in the future.

I agree that so many in our country just see children as a burden which is a really sad mentality. One of our purposes in life is to become parents! It is one of the greatest things any of us could do!
